Michael Farris is a Senior Advisor to Convention of States and co-founded the organization with Mark Meckler. He is largely known for his work in constitutional appellate litigation, religious freedom, and homeschool advocacy.

Mike was the founding president of both the Home School Legal Defense Association and Patrick Henry College. He has served as lead counsel in the United States Supreme Court, eight federal circuit courts, and the appellate courts of 13 states. 

Following five years of dedicated work with Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), Mike returned to Convention of States to help push the Article V solution over the finish line.

Rick Santorum is Senior Advisor for Convention of States. Sen. Santorum was a candidate for the Republican nomination for President in 2012 and 2016—winning the 2012 Iowa caucuses, 10 additional states and nearly 4 million votes. Prior to his campaigns for president, Rick served two terms in both the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate, where he gained a reputation as one of the nation’s leading government reformers, pro-life advocates, and national security experts.

Calley is the co-author with his sister, Dr. Casey Means, of Good Energy: The Surprising Connection Between Metabolism and Limitless Health, which debuted at #1 on the NYTimes has sold 1 million copies in its first six months of release. He is the co-founder of TrueMed, a company that enables tax-free spending on food and exercise.  He recently started an advocacy coalition with leading health and wellness companies called End Chronic Disease to lobby for change.

Calley is a Senior Advisor on MAHA for the Trump administration. He is a graduate of Stanford and Harvard Business School. He has appeared on podcasts such as Tucker Carlson (where his episode was the most shared podcast of 2024), Joe Rogan, Skinny Confidential, and Bari Weiss.

KEVIN D. ROBERTS, PhD

President of The Heritage Foundation and Heritage Action for America

Dr. Roberts was named President of The Heritage Foundation in October 2021 as the seventh President in the organization’s 50-year history. In September 2023, Roberts was named President of Heritage Action for America and serves both organizations in a joint role.

Roberts previously served as the CEO of the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF), an Austin-based nonprofit, nonpartisan research institute and the largest state think tank in the nation. Under Roberts’ leadership, TPPF more than doubled in size. He also expanded the Texas think tank’s influence nationwide, opening an office in Washington, D.C., so that TPPF research might better inform federal policy debates. 

Roberts earned his PhD in American History from the University of Texas. Roberts and his wife have four children.

THOMAS LINDSAY, PhD

Dr, Lindsay was the director of the National Endowment for the Humanities’ (NEH) signature initiative, We the People, which supports teaching and scholarship in American history and culture. He was later named deputy chairman and chief operating officer of the NEH.

Lindsay co-authored the American government college textbook Investigating American Democracy with Gary Glenn. He has published numerous articles on the subject of democratic education, many of which have appeared in the world’s most prestigious academic journals, including the American Political Science Review, the Journal of Politics, and the American Journal of Political Science.

Lindsay has published articles on higher-education reform in Real Clear Policy, Los Angeles Times, National Review, Inside Higher Ed, Washington Examiner, Knight-Ridder Syndicate, Dallas Morning News, Houston Chronicle, American Spectator, Forbes, and the Austin American-Statesman, among others.
